Russian momentum in Ukraine could slow for lack of resources – British PM

BERLIN, June 22 (Reuters) – Britain’s defence intelligence company believes that Russia’s momentum in the war in Ukraine will slow in the future couple months as its military exhausts its sources, British Key Minister Boris Johnson explained to a group of European newspapers.

In comments introduced on Wednesday by Germany’s Sueddeutsche Zeitung, Johnson stated President Vladimir Putin’s forces were being pushing forward in the jap Donbas region, wreaking destruction but at a hefty value in soldiers and weapons.

“Our defence intelligence service believes, however, that in the next few months, Russia could come to a position at which there is no longer any ahead momentum because it has exhausted its assets,” Johnson was quoted as indicating in the interview.

“Then we will have to assist the Ukrainians to reverse the dynamic. I will argue for this at the Group of Seven summit (in Germany at the weekend),” he reported.

“In as substantially as the Ukrainians are in a position to begin a counter-offensive, it really should be supported. With products that they demand from us,” he mentioned.

Requested what a victory for Ukraine, or failure for Putin, would appear like, Johnson stated:

“That we at least regain the standing quo that was there prior to Feb. 24 and that its (Russia’s) troops are repulsed from

the locations they invaded”.

The interview was also offered to France’s Le Monde and Italian and Spanish newspapers.
